Creating a New Style by Dragging from the Appearance Palette
Create an object, then give the required attributes. For example, define the stroke, the fill color, the effect, and so on. If you are currently displaying the Appearance palette, everything you define will appear on that palette, while in the Path field the name of the object will appear (if you don't give a name, it will be referred to generally as a Graphic Style). If you want the style that you apply to the object stored, so that later it can be applied to other objects, the steps are as follows: 1. Open the Appearance palette and Style palette then close the two. 2. Select the object that the style will be saved so that in the Appearance palette all attributes of that object will appear. 3. Drag the path name from the Appearance palette to the Style palette.
